IT prerequisites
What a company computer and network need for Relay to work.
Step 1: Computers
Mac: Apple silicon (M1 or later). Relay must sit in the Applications folder to install updates.
Windows: a 64-bit PC where the user can run the Relay installer, or where IT installs it for them.
Step 2: Network access
Relay needs to reach your agency's Relay workspace (app.relayins.com), its downloads (download.relayins.com), ChatGPT's sign-in and service, and each carrier's website.
Agencies that block ChatGPT or AI sites need to allow them for the people who quote. Ask your Relay contact for the current list of addresses before you change firewall rules.
If ChatGPT is blocked, quoters can install and sign in to Relay, but carrier runs can't start.
Step 3: Accounts
Each quoter needs three separate accounts: their Relay invitation, a ChatGPT account to connect in Relay, and their own login for each carrier's website, with access to its MFA codes.
Relay keeps saved carrier logins in the Mac Keychain or Windows Credential Manager on that computer. On a Mac, users may be asked once to let Relay use the keychain.
